Job Summary:
The General Manager – HRD is responsible for leading the strategic and operational human resource development initiatives across the organisation. This includes talent acquisition, leadership development, performance management, employee engagement, training and development, succession planning, and organisational culture. The GM–HRD ensures that human capital aligns with business objectives and fosters a high-performance, growth-oriented workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic HR Development
Develop and execute HRD strategies that support business goals.
Design and implement workforce planning, talent management, and leadership pipeline initiatives.
Drive change management and organisational development programs. - Talent Acquisition & Management
Oversee recruitment strategies for key roles across the organisation.
Lead employer branding and talent outreach programs.
Manage onboarding, probation, and confirmation processes. - Learning & Development (L&D)
Develop and oversee training and development frameworks.
Identify skill gaps and design competency-based training programs.
Partner with external vendors and institutions for specialised training. - Performance Management
Oversee the design and implementation of the performance appraisal system.
Promote a merit-based culture through continuous feedback, KPIs, and goal alignment.
Ensure effective management of high-potential and underperforming employees. - Employee Engagement & Retention
Design and implement engagement strategies to improve job satisfaction and reduce attrition.
Conduct employee satisfaction surveys and act on feedback.
Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. - Policy, Compliance & Culture
Ensure HRD practices comply with labor laws and internal policies.
Promote a values-driven, ethical, and inclusive workplace culture.
Review and update HR policies in line with best practices and evolving business needs. Qualifications and Experience:
Master’s degree in HR, Business Administration.
15+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 10 years in a senior HR leadership role.
Proven expertise in talent management, organizational development, and HR strategy.
Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
Experience in digital HR tools and platforms (SAP, Workday, Success Factors) is a plus.
